The first book in the blockbuster phenomenon The Maze Runner series now features chapters from the highly-anticipated series conclusion, The Fever Code, the book that finally reveals the story of how the maze was built!

When Thomas wakes up in the lift, the only thing he can remember is his name. He’s surrounded by strangers—boys whose memories are also gone.
Outside the towering stone walls that surround them is a limitless, ever-changing maze. It’s the only way out—and no one’s ever made it through alive.
Then a girl arrives. The first girl ever. And the message she delivers is terrifying.
   Remember. Survive. Run.

The Maze Runner and Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials are now major motion pictures featuring the star of MTV's Teen Wolf, Dylan O’Brien; Kaya Scodelario; Aml Ameen; Will Poulter; and Thomas Brodie-Sangster. The third movie, Maze Runner: The Death Cure, will hit screens in 2018.

My thoughts

I bought the book when I first heard about the movie adaptation. I wanted to read it before it hit theatres and well... this didn´t work out too well. But now I´ve finally finished reading. :)

The cover is a lot of fun to look at. You can look right into a huge maze and every time you look at it you have the chance to spot even more and more details.

What does it feel like to be locked in? To have no way of escaping a place but through a huge maze full of dangerous creatures? Would you risk it?
Thomas wakes up on a huge field, the Glade. His memories were wiped out and he can´t deal with the fact that he can´t escape this place. He wants to know what´s going on and he is more than willing to risk his life. But where will that lead him?

I loovvveeeddd Chuck! He´s the youngest boy living in the Glade and he is a lot of fun to read about. To be honest, I´m a huge fan of Thomas as well. He is stubborn, brave and smart. He´s amazing!

The style of writing is truly remarkable. The Gladers´ve  developed this very own way of speaking and you can spot the difference between English and the language the Gladers use. This aspect of language variety is truly brilliant!

Fazit

"The Maze Runner" is a must-read and you should definitely read the book before watching the movie!
